A Dealer-Only Vehicle Trading App With Timed Auctions and Live Bidding, Built for Egypt

Egyptian dealers were sourcing cars from each other through disconnected WhatsApp threads and phone calls. Carlista gave that trade a governed market, with an engineer's condition report attached before a car is listed.

The build

Carlista is a business-to-business vehicle trading platform for Egyptian car dealerships, built by Aipxperts over roughly three years and shipped to Google Play and the App Store in February 2026.

It sits alongside the operator's vehicle inspection business, which means the cars listed on it arrive with an engineer's condition report already attached.

The problem

Dealers source vehicles from other dealers constantly. In this market that trade was happening through disconnected WhatsApp threads and phone calls, which works until you want any of the four things a real market needs.

There was no shared searchable inventory, so finding a specific vehicle meant asking people and hoping.

There were no timed auctions, so price discovery happened one conversation at a time.

There were no alerts, so a dealer only learned a matching vehicle existed if someone thought to tell them.

There was no verification, so counterparty trust rested entirely on personal relationships.

The market is also bilingual. Dealers work in Arabic and English, and a platform that handles one properly and the other as an afterthought will lose half its users.

What we built

The product decision underneath this build is that the platform should not be open. A marketplace anyone can join has a trust problem that no feature fixes. A marketplace with verified dealer onboarding has a smaller starting pool and a functioning one.

Verified dealer onboarding

A governed network where dealerships are checked before they can trade, which is what makes the rest of the platform usable between strangers.

Searchable inventory and requests

Real-time listings and vehicle requests, so a dealer can search supply and signal demand in the same place.

Timed auctions with live bidding

Automated auction cycles with live bid updates, replacing one-to-one price negotiation with actual price discovery.

Brand-filtered push notifications

Alerts on matching vehicles, filtered by the brands a dealer trades and delivered in English or Arabic.

Bilingual interface

Full Arabic and English support, treated as a first-class requirement rather than a translation layer.

Condition reports attached to listings

The operator's existing inspection business feeds structured vehicle condition data into the listings, so a bid is placed against evidence. Inspection PDFs and vehicle catalogues are held in Firebase Storage alongside the auction images.

The outcome

The platform is early. It launched in February 2026 and adoption figures are correspondingly small, so this page deliberately makes a capability claim rather than a scale one.

Before
dealers coordinated vehicle sourcing through disconnected WhatsApp threads and phone calls, with no shared searchable inventory, no timed auctions and no alerts when a matching vehicle appeared.
After
a governed dealer network with verified onboarding, real-time searchable requests and inventory, automated timed auctions with live bidding, and brand-filtered push notifications in English or Arabic. Shipped to Google Play as version 1.0.4 and to the App Store as version 1.0.1 in February 2026.

If your market currently runs on group chats, the hard part is not the app. It is the trust model underneath it.
